Carnival is the right time to let our imagination fly. The only thing we need is a good idea, time, and a bit of enthusiasm.
And this is something that we three creative girls did not lack, even though the day at the train station in Kranj was very cold.
Klavdija Urbanec Šlibar, distinguished herself as a master of scissors and comb, the makeup artist and blogger Nika Veger ,
Veger took care of the makeup, and I kept pulling the trigger on my camera.
We got an idea of making urban masks with a hint of the past. We borrowed luxurious dresses from Ljubljana SNG Opera and Ballet. And Klavdija’s daughters, Gita and Lalita, did a great job as models.
LADY IN BLACK OR CONTEMPORARY-VINTAGE WITCH
MAKEUP: Eyes need to be accentuated with smoky-eyes technique with dark colours like violet, grey or black. Apply glitter in the same shade. Lips can be as dark as well.
HAIR: Use a curler or curling iron to create big curls. Form a bun in the shape you want, tie the curls high over your forehead or let them fall loosely. A tiara can be a nice addition to your hair.
SWAN OR MODERN PRINCESS
MAKEUP: If we had to describe a swan, we could use words like gentle and etherical. And this is what makeup should be like. Choose natural, earthy tones for your eyes and accentuate your lips. You can also apply false lashes. You can be a little playful and apply false lashes.
HAIR: Attach a hair sponge to the middle of your head. Tie every hair curl over the sponge until the latter is completely covered. Allow a strand or two to fall loosely by your face.
LITTLE FLAMENCO DANCER
MAKEUP: Adapt typical makeup in seducing Spanish woman look – red lips and black liner – to the softness of the children’s face. Eyes should be slightly accentuated by a shiny shade in soft grey tone, lips should be slightly red. You can use red lip balm.
HAIR: Tie hair in a cute little bun at the back. Put a big red flower in it. To keep the hair in the bun, use hair spray.
